Open Adoption

Closed Adoption

Sometimes, privacy is needed for safety or closure. If you prefer not to have contact with the adoptive family, a closed adoption may be the right fit for you.

With closed adoption, an adoption agency would select a family based on your unique preferences. All identifying information is concealed, and you would have no further contact with your child.

Semi-Open Adoption

A semi-open adoption plan is a mix of open and closed adoption plans. It allows you to keep contact with the adoptive family and your child, but all emails or letters go through a third party, such as an adoption agency. It’s more private than an open adoption because you don’t share any identifying information.
